Public Meeting for Review of Historic Preservation Fund Sub-Grants, FY20
A limited amount of grant funds will be available through the annual Historic Preservation Fund award from the National Park Service. The public is invited to review grant applications that were submitted to the State Historic Preservation Office by March 13th, 2020. Grants can support public education, surveys, planning, archaeological investigations, and building restoration.

It’s Official! Downtown Fallon Listed in the National Register of Historic Places
On June 27, 2019, the National Park Service (NPS) listed the iconic Maine Street Historic District in Fallon, Churchill County in the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the nation’s official list of places worthy of preservation, recognizing important places and potentially qualifying them for certain grants and tax incentives.

Two historic schools are now listed in the Nevada State Register of Historic Places
As part of an ongoing movement to preserve the Silver State’s past, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office listed both the Battle Mountain Grammar School in Lander County and the Oats Park Grammar School in Fallon in the Nevada State Register of Historic Places.
